Announcements

June 3, 2013
Dear SAME Young Members,

Back by popular demand....the National Young Members Council will be hosting a Professional Development call with Jeff Lahr from Lawing Financial Group. Those that joined our call last fall were provided with a great opportunity to ask financial related questions about the topics that affect all of us as young professionals. We discussed retirement, IRAs, the current market, and everything in between.

This conference call will be a Question & Answer format. This is a non sales, non product conversation. Please bring your questions to the call, or get them to Ann Ewy, Vice Chair for Programs in advance by emailing Ann at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

As a member of the Lawing Financial team, Jeff’s focus is to help high net worth professionals and small business owners in the areas of retirement planning, asset accumulation, tax reduction and estate planning. He also works with business owners in the areas of qualified plan development and implementation as well as business succession planning.

Jeff is a member of the Lawing Financial Inc Investment Advisory Committee. In this capacity, he assists other team members in reviewing market conditions, individual client portfolios, asset allocation models and overall economic factors affecting investment returns.

Prior to entering the financial services industry, Jeff excelled in the technology industry, developing, selling and marketing complex technology solutions to Fortune 500 corporations. Jeff has been a key person in closely held companies and understands issues facing small business owners.

Jeff is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Iowa State University. He has furthered his education by obtaining his FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations.

Jeff enjoys spending his spare spending time with his family and friends hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Jeff, his wife Stacy and children, Grant and Lindsay, live in Leawood, Kansas.

Chair Note

The Young Member Council’s website is designed to give you a quick look at how the Council supports YM efforts across the Society.  It may also provide you with ideas of what kinds of events to hold at your local Post.  If you have held an event, or you’re getting ready to hold one, let us know!  We’d be more than happy to get the word out or offer assistance in planning.  We want to see your events succeed in reaching YMs through mentoring, professional development, and networking.  If you’ve had a great event recently, let us know!  We’d love to share your successes with the YM community throughout the Society by publishing articles in our bi-monthly newsletter.  The YMC is another tool to help YMs execute at the Post level – I hope we can make that a reality for you!
