New Jersey & New Orleans Posts Come Together Post-Hurricane Sandy

The New Orleans Post recently donated a generous $1,000 to the New Jersey Post to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy. New Orleans Post Board Member Greg Breerwood said, “We in New Orleans know only too well of the challenges that so many people face after such an event.” The New Jersey Post Board of Direction voted to match the $1,000 donation, and make an additional $500 donation to be distributed to two charities: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Operation Warm Heart and Tuckerton Office of Emergency Management (OEM). The purpose of the Warm Heart Fund is to provide emergency monetary assistance on a case-by-case basis to enlisted Airmen and their immediate family members. The Tuckerton OEM supports five local food pantries which are extremely short on supplies, as a result of the demand from the superstorm. The funds donated by both Posts will be used immediately to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
