Student Leaders Workshop

The SAME Student Leaders Workshop serves as a forum for Student Leaders from SAME Student Chapters to meet and discuss various facets of their school’s Student Chapter operation. This is a great opportunity to share ideas on what works and does not work, as well as fixes that can be provided through the Chapter, Post, or national levels of SAME.

Criteria and Application
Students eligible for participation in the Student Leaders Workshop must be:
Student Members of SAME and either continuing in a Student Chapter leadership position, or slated to assume a leadership position for academic year 2014-2015.
Representing a Student Chapter that is in “good standing” (e.g., Charter on file).
SAME Posts will be responsible for the student’s travel costs; however, SAME HQ will cover lodging and meals during the workshop (see list of responsibilities below).

SAME HQ Responsibilities:
Provide hotel accommodations for one student per chartered Student Chapter for two nights (Feb. 20 - 21).
Will make hotel reservations and provide meals during the workshop for one student for two nights per chartered Student Chapter.
Fund student travel expenses.
Register student attendees (details will be sent to Posts).
Posts desiring to send two students to the Student Leaders Workshop may do so by nominating a second Student who can be a senior, and providing SAME HQ a registration fee of $300.
Dates to Remember:
Dec. 5, 2014–Deadline to apply for Student Leaders Workshop.
Dec. 19, 2014–SAME HQ confirms Student and Chapter meet eligibility requirements and are approved to attend.
Jan. 16, 2015–Deadline for students to submit their travel information to SAME HQ.
