2019 Awards
Post Members: Now’s your chance to recognize our outstanding post performers! We have many people donating their time and resources to make our post successful.
Requirement: Submit a short note (no more than 250 words) to Mike Pampalone and Nicole Foster by 31 December 2018 for the following award categories.
Awards
Outstanding Educator
Professor of architecture, engineering, construction, or related field who is a SAME member prior to nomination. Excellence in educating, mentoring, and motivating students in architecture, engineering, and related disciplines, and partnering with the local SAME Post to allow Post members to mentor student members. (SAME Bliss Medal)
Engineer of the Year
Registered Engineer who was a member of SAME prior to nomination. Eminent and notable contributions in engineering, design, or construction in the past five years. (SAME Goethals Medal)
Architect of the Year
A Registered Architect. Eminent and notable contribution in the field of architecture in the past five years. (SAME Urbahn Medal)
Post President’s Award
A member of The Society for at least ten years. Outstanding leadership and accomplishments in support of the Society mission over one’s entire period of membership in the Society. (SAME Post Service Medal)
Technology Advancement Award
Initiative in advancement of existing engineering and related technology for the past three years; demonstrated acceptance and application of technology by users; demonstrated communication skills in technology advancement; effective use of teamwork; and cost savings and effectiveness of the technology. (SAME Technology Advancement Medal)
Author of the Year
Young Member author of an article in The Military Engineer or Regular member with one or more articles published in The Military Engineer. (SAME Toulmin Medal)
Young Member in Uniform
Outstanding contributions to engineering, design, construction, research & development, or planning for the past three years by a uniformed member. Demonstrated leadership in managing projects or organizations. Receipt of awards or other recognition for professionalism, leadership and/or community service. (SAME Sverdrup Medal)
President’s Young Member Award
For engineering leadership by an outstanding young member who has been a member for least 3 years. Outstanding contributions to engineering, design, construction, research & development, or planning for the past three years. Demonstrated leadership in managing projects or organizations, Receipt of awards or other recognition for professionalism, leadership. (SAME Tudor Medal)
Large Sustaining Firm of the Year
Large Company (>2500 employees): SAME J.W. Morris Sustaining Member Award
Medium Sustaining Firm of the Year
Medium Company (101-2,499 employees: SAME Seymour S. Greenfield Sustaining Member Award
Small Business Award
A company that has at least one Post Sustaining Membership in the past three years and is a Small Business in at least one NAICS category as of the date of nomination. (SAME Robert B. Flowers Small Business Award)
Public Agency of the Year
Any federal, state, or local public agency that has maintained its membership for three or more years. For federal agencies, the award is intended for a field organization, not the entire agency (SAME Public Agency Award)
Communities of Interest
SAME’s Communities of Interest offer members a chance to engage nationally with other professionals focused on a particular technical field or demographic within joint engineering and the A/E/C industry.
