School Year 2024 Scholarship Information
Greetings! Each year, the Virginia Peninsula Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) awards scholarships to deserving students throughout the state of Virginia, and we’re doing it again in 2024!! In 2023, we awarded four scholarships of $1,000 each. We will continue our school scholarship program by offering scholarships in three eligible categories by grade levels, the highest scholarship being $5,000: 1) High school seniors, 2) college freshman to seniors, and 3) graduate students. We feel this ensures we touch all levels of study and provides our younger applicants a chance to re-apply each year as they pursue their education.
The application requirements are straightforward. Just fill out this short application package that includes all of the information regarding the program and what is required to apply. Completed applications must be mailed (postmarked), emailed, or hand-delivered each year by March 31. Contact information is provided in the application package. Applicants will be notified via email or phone call whether they have won a scholarship. Winners will receive their scholarships via mail and are invited to attend a post event to share in person, how it impacted their career. If the winner cannot attend the meeting, they are encouraged to present a letter or a video.
Good luck to all who apply! As in the past, we look forward to receiving many quality applications.
