Applications for 2024 Scholarships are now being accepted

Due Monday, June 10, 2024



The Los Angeles Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME-LA) is requesting scholarship applications from Los Angeles County STEM students. Applications will be accepted from individuals who plan to enter college or vocational/technical school or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, majoring in science technology or a natural science, engineering, or math.  

SAME-LA will award a minimum of four scholarships this year of $2,500 each. With the generous donations and fundraising efforts of our members and supporters, we hope to award more.

There are 4 categories of scholarships available. The eligibility requirements for each are listed below:

  • Los Angeles County High School Seniors (graduating in Spring 2024) 
    Accepted to a U.S. college in an accredited program in natural science or science technology, engineering, or math (STEM) 
  • Current/New Vocational/Technical School Students
    Enrolling or continuing in a STEM-related program 
  • Current Undergraduate Students
    Enrolled in or continuing in a STEM-related program
  • United States Veterans 
    Pursuing a STEM-related program at a vocational/technical school, community college or other U.S. college/university

ALL scholarship applicants shall:

  • Reside in Los Angeles County (or have a home address in Los Angeles County)
  • Begin/continue program by September 2024
  • Attend SAME Scholarship Awards Event on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Parkers’ Lighthouse in Long Beach to receive the scholarship.

Application packets will be accepted through Monday, June 10, 2024, and may be (preferably) emailed or mailed to:
