SAME Omaha Post Industry Day Shatters Records with Attendance and Fundraising

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Omaha Post’s Industry Day proved to be a resounding success, exceeding expectations on all fronts. A record-breaking 753 attendees registered for the event, a significant increase of nearly 100 from 2023. This tremendous turnout reflects the strong industry engagement and the valuable networking opportunities offered by the conference.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the SAME Omaha Post raised an incredible amount (over $90,000) for scholarships and the student mentoring program. This remarkable accomplishment will undoubtedly support future generations of industry professionals.

A highlight of the 2024 Industry Day was the captivating presentation by retired US Army Ranger Kris “Tanto” Paronto. His speech, titled “Crucible of Crisis: Resilience in the Face of Adversity,” resonated deeply with the audience. Drawing from his experiences in Benghazi and other deployments in extreme environments, Paronto shared invaluable lessons on perseverance, leadership, and strategic decision-making under pressure. He explored how effective collaboration, preparation, accountability, and mental and physical training can transform adversity into opportunity. By instilling a “Never Quit!” mentality, Paronto’s insights proved valuable not only on the battlefield but also within the business world.

The SAME Omaha Post’s Industry Day stands as a testament to the organization’s commitment to fostering professional development, collaboration, and giving back to the community. With record attendance, inspiring presentations, and significant fundraising, the event serves as a springboard for continued success in the years to come. Please plan to attend next year’s event, scheduled for May 28-30, 2025.
