SAME Governance
SAME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Alexandria, Va. The organization is led by the SAME Board of Direction, which includes six National Officers (President, President-Elect, Past President, and three Vice Presidents), 18 Regional Vice Presidents, Chairs of SAME’s Communities of Interest, and 12 Elected Directors who serve three-year terms, as well as Appointed Directors and additional non-voting members. The Society is supported by the National Office staff, based in Alexandria, Va.
The SAME Foundation was established in 2016 and is led by a Board of Directors. SAME’s Executive Director is also Executive Director of the SAME Foundation, and while the SAME Foundation Board is separately run from the SAME Board of Direction, the SAME Board of Direction is the ranking entity.
2025 Board of Direction Election
Voting in the SAME National Board of Direction election for 2025 is open March 1 to April 15. The ballot includes candidates for President-Elect, Vice President, and Elected Director.
