ABOUT

The program is a unique opportunity for Young Professionals, Junior Officers, and Non-Commissioned Officers to be mentored by SAME Fellows and senior leaders from government and private sector while developing their leadership skills through focused educational sessions. The program includes monthly meetings with these industry leaders to discuss various topics regarding leadership and professional growth. A select group will be chosen to participate in the program, based on applications submitted, and can earn up to 20 PDHs over the course of the year.

TYPICAL ANNUAL PROGRAM:

  • Monthly in-person sessions in the DC/NoVA region
  • Optional* attendance at these other special events (*if events are held):
    • ASCE Outstanding Projects and Leadership (OPAL) Awards Banquet
    • Army Engineer Association Castle Ball
    • ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Gala
    • Various Articles, SAME Videos and TED Talks on Leadership Discussions

ELIGIBILITY

Open to mid-career SAME Young Professionals who are a current members of the DC or Northern Virginia Posts. Preference is to those who have a minimum of 5 years of professional services work experience under the age of 40 years.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications open in November with a deadline in early December. The first event will start in January following selection notifications.

TUITION

  • Complimentary for full-time government participants
  • $500 for industry participants
  • $300 for Small Business industry participants

This is a highly-competitive application process and all items in the application must be completed to be considered for the program.
