With over $77 billion Department of Defense and other government agency contracts over the past three fiscal years going to small business set-asides, understanding how small and large businesses can work together is crucial in government contracting.

COVID-19 is a worldwide public health crisis. As the emergency began to evolve in early spring 2020, USACE went into action, delivering alternative care facilities (ACFs) across the country on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) – 15,074 beds in 38 facilities in 75 days. The architect, engineer, contractor (AEC) industry rallied around USACE to make it happen. Mission first, people always.
The video shares the viewpoints of the virtual panel to discuss the challenges and successes of this unprecedented emergency program to help support locations around the nation. Expert panelists shared their hands-on experience with the rapid response, delivering project services, and working together in a common cause to bring these critical facilities online.

A SAME DC Post Industry Group led by Philios Angelides, PE, F. SAME, Past Post President, met with the Hon Lucian Niemeyer, Assistant Secretary of the Navy – Energy, Installations and Environment, and his leadership team, to discuss best practices in managing projects thru their development lifecycle and improve project delivery metrics. This meeting was the first of what is expected to be a series of meetings to develop ideas and recommendations for improving the project delivery process.
