April 1st Tyndall AFB Reconstruction Tour (coincides with Golf Tournament). Tour participants will view the ongoing construction of a wide variety of hurricane-resistant facilities, utility infrastructure, and airfield improvements that will support Tyndall AFB’s mission over the next 70 years. This $5.3B construction effort involves the construction of 120 purpose-built facilities that are capable of withstanding sustained wind speeds of 165 mph and sited at elevations that will avoid the impacts of future tidal surge events.
