Awards Information

Sustaining Member Firm of the YearSevenson Environmental Services. This award shall be presented by the Post to a sustaining member firm in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Society of American Military Engineers and/or the military engineering profession.  To be eligible for the award, the firm must be a current sustaining member of the Philadelphia Post, SAME in good standing.

Young Member AwardKyle Young, Bluestone Environmental. This award shall be presented by the Post in recognition of superior achievement by a Young Member.  To be eligible for the award, the recipient must be a current young member (under the age of 40) of the Philadelphia Post, SAME at the time the award is presented.

Notable Achievement AwardLTC Drobenak, VFMAC. This award shall be presented by the Post in recognition of outstanding contribution by the recipient to the military engineering profession and its practice.   To be eligible for the award, the recipient must be a current member of the Philadelphia Post, SAME in good standing at the time the award is presented.

Service AwardStephanie Sherwood – Weston Solutions. This award shall be presented by the Post in recognition of extraordinary effort by the recipient in maintaining and advancing the objectives of the Post.  To be eligible for the award, the recipient must be a current member of the Philadelphia Post, SAME in good standing at the time the award is presented.

Scholarship Information

This year the post has a total of up to $42,000 to be awarded to deserving student(s) enrolled in STEM programs that are positioned to develop into the next generation of military, government, and industry leaders. Nominations for the scholarships are solicited from local colleges and universities that have ROTC programs. 

Your Nominees (up to 2 nominees) must be in their junior or senior year of ROTC and must have successfully completed at least one year of study in engineering, math, or science. The criteria for selecting your scholarship recipient will be greatest financial need along with academic achievement, leadership/citizenship, overall character, and grade point average. The student may be nominated two years in a row. Scholarships will be awarded from the pool of applicants received regardless of ROTC program or school affiliation. Therefore, not all schools are guaranteed to receive a scholarship award.
