What is this conference?

This is the 5th event of the Dam & Levee Resilience series, a collaborative event between the Federal Government, State and Local Governments, Regional Agencies, and the private sector. Stakeholders of all kinds will be coming together in person to foster cross-sector collaboration regarding the risks, challenges, and policy updates facing our aging infrastructure. The safety and security of dams and levees is paramount; please join us as we discuss the concerns and challenges associated with maintaining these critical structures.

The conference will start Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 8am with breakfast with exhibitors, keynote speakers will kick off at 9am and go until 4pm with a happy hour networking event to follow until 6:30pm, PST. Wednesday, November 13, 2024, schedule will be identical.

Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM) Tour
(Monday, November 11, 5pm – 7pm):

Join us for a free tour of the Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM) at UC Davis, where groundbreaking research meets world-class geotechnical centrifuge modeling facilities. As part of the NSF-sponsored Natural Hazards and Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) network, this center advances the understanding of soil and soil-structure systems under the impact of earthquakes, waves, winds, and storm surges. The facility boasts one of the world’s largest centrifuges equipped with a shaking table, enabling highly complex experiments crucial for developing resilient infrastructure. Explore the state-of-the-art centrifuges and discover their role in simulating real-world geotechnical challenges. Visit their Vision and Facility pages to learn more about the fascinating work at CGM.

A social hour is being put together to follow. For more information, or to sign up for the tour or social hour, please click the below button.
