Webinar: From a DCAA Perspective Series—Breaking into GovCon
Tuesday, June 25, 2024 | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET
This webinar, part 1 of a 3 part series, will feature the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) in a discussion that will break down the impact of the 2019 GAO “Contract Financing” report and the subsequent Defense Pricing and Contracting finance study, which cited government compliant accounting systems, Cost Accounting Standards, and FAR Cost Principles as barriers to entry for small businesses looking to enter the Defense Industrial Base. During this webinar, DCAA will look at the types of contract awards and the requirements for each, as well as the common misconceptions of FAR, CAS, and TINA.
Part 1 of 3.
Who Should Attend: Small businesses looking to break into the Defense Industrial Base but aren’t sure where to start and what “rules” they need to follow….or for NEW employees who aren’t familiar with working on federal contracts.
Why You Should Attend: To gain a better understanding of fixed price versus cost type contract awards and what those awards mean to your bottom line when it comes to compliance and audits with government contracting.
Major Objectives: Individuals attending can expect to recognize when audits are triggered within the contract life cycle, when exemptions are no longer allotted for small businesses under Cost Accounting Standard (CAS), and when you are required to certify your proposal packages.
