Program: Engineering Ethics: An Introduction

Presenter: Mr. Michael “Mike” Howe, P.E., F.SAME, MSA, CEA

Presentation Description: What engineers do is a great thing, but what they ought to do may be something else. This is where Engineering Ethics come into play. Learn what ethical issues are all about and why attention to them continues to grow.

Biography: Mr. Mike Howe, Fellow SAME, has nearly 40 years of federal civilian experience in the A/E/C industry. He is currently the Chief of Infrastructure Support for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Sensors Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH, providing facility, safety, logistics, and infrastructure support to one of the largest research laboratories in the Air Force with a 1,200-person workforce and $900 million dollar budget. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Howe held various positions in the 88th Civil Engineer Group at Wright-Patterson including the role of Deputy Director. Mr. Howe has been a SAME member for over 20 years and has been active in the Kittyhawk Post serving as Past President, plus various Board and committees positions his entire tenure.He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Systems Engineering from Wright State University, a Master of Science in Administration, from Central Michigan University, and is a graduate of Air War College. He also holds a Masters Certificate in Leadership from the University of Dayton and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.

Regular registration runs through Apr 6th. An additional $5 late registration fee will be added to the ticket price after that date. Check-in begins at 11:15AM the day of the luncheon.Refunds cannot be issued if cancellations are made less than 48 hours prior to the event. If the “pay at the door” option is utilized and the reservation is not honored or cancelled prior to 48 hours before the event, payment is still expected, and an invoice will be sent.

There is no need to print tickets or bring them with you. Credit cards are accepted on-line or at the door. The “Pay at the Door” option is available by clicking on the “Payment Method” pull down on the second page when making your reservation.
