The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) DC & NoVA Posts invite you to join us for the volunteer event of the season, Wreaths Across America, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Arlington National Cemetery. Contact: Monica Manthey, monica_manthey@millerknoll.com.
More than 250k wreaths are placed throughout the cemetery to honor all members of the Armed Services who have served. The SAME DC & NoVA Posts will be laying wreaths starting at 8 am and welcomes all SAME members to join us. Bring your friends, family, and colleagues, if you’ll like to come out and support this event.
This event is voluntary for all ages, and there is NO NEED to register in advance.

TIME
Meet as a group at 7:30 am (see details below).
Wreath laying starts at 8 am.
VOLUNTEER DETAILS
→ Download the Arlington Cemetery Map and plan on meeting up at the Blue Circle. Expect a 10-15 minute walk from the access points to the meet up location.
ACCESS POINTS
- Enter through the Main Avenue Main Entrance
- There are 4 access points for non-DoD CAC holder
Look for Whitney Stowell (bright green jacket -or- text 202-743-4959) at Entrance (Blue Circle) of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) around 7:30 am – 8 am at Memorial Avenue
- Once we get a group we will head up to start laying wreaths together.
WHAT TO DO
Dress for the weather! We will be outside.
Parking is extremely limited. We recommend you take metro or rideshare to the Cemetery.
Be prepared to walk. Wear comfortable shoes and bring gloves to protect your hands.
