Using AT/FP Requirements and UFC 4-010-01 Design Criteria to Increase Climate Resilience of Military Installation Infrastructure and Mission-critical Assets

Wiesbaden, Germany

This month’s Rhein Main Post meeting will feature a presentation by MAJ (Ret) Chris Haberkamp (formerly Military Engineer with Antiterrorism USAREUR-AF G34 Protect) and Mick Bilney MBA, Stantec GS. The presentation describes how AT/FP Requirements and DOD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings in UFC 4-01-01, and related tools from UFC 4-020-01, can be used to increase installation and mission-critical asset resilience to climate change hazards. The presenters demonstrate how they modified worksheet tools from UFC 4-020-01 to analyze, quantify, and prioritize typical climate hazards at US military installations. The presenters then describe how the results of the analysis lead to identifying the design criteria to harden and protect mission-critical assets and increasing installation climate resilience.
