Welcome to the SAME Nashville Post Scholarship News Page. Thank you for your interest in the SAME Nashville Post Scholarship. The SAME Nashville Post Scholarship supports students who are pursuing an accredited education in engineering, architecture, mathematics, computer science and related fields. The SAME Nashville Post has supported over 300 students over the past 30 years, and the Post looks forward to supporting more students for years to come.

March 1 – April 15:  Applications accepted (Postmarked no later than April 15)
May:  Notification of awards to scholarship recipients
June/July:  Distribution of scholarship funds (Directly to college or university) 

Points of Interest about the SAME Nashville Post Scholarship:

The SAME Nashville Post awarded its first scholarship in 1990, and has been awarding scholarships ever since. To date, the SAME Nashville Post has awarded over $395,000 to over 300 individual scholarships. The scholarship is funded by interest from the endowment, and greatly funded by generous contributions from individual members and sustaining member companies, as well as the Annual SAME Nashville Post Golf Scramble fund raiser which is usually held each May. The SAME Nashville Post Scholarship Committee is grateful to all those individuals, sustaining member firms, and golfers who give generously to make the scholarship possible every year.

The SAME Nashville Post Scholarship supports the SAME Mission and Values. The SAME Mission is, “To promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public and private sector engineers, and related professionals.” The SAME values are integrity, patriotism, public service, national security, technical competence, excellence and environmental stewardship.

To be eligible for an SAME Nashville Post scholarship, you must be a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Nashville Post; where active member is defined as being a current member (at the time of the application) who has held current membership for one continuous year or more; be a student member of the SAME Nashville Post; be a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of an employee or retired employee of a current SAME Nashville Post sustaining member firm or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, or be employed by a current SAME Nashville Post sustaining member firm or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. You must be an undergraduate or graduate student studying in the field of engineering, architecture, mathematics, computer science or related field in an accredited program. Your grade point average must be a 3.0/4.0 or greater.

It is free to be a student member of the SAME Nashville Post as long as you are in high school or college. All you have to do is join as a student member and declare Nashville as your home post.
