Members from the Omaha Post volunteered over 40 hours in 100+ degree heat this weekend (August 24-25, 2024) to help celebrate the landing of over 150 individuals who completed a 50-Mile March in an effort to raise awareness of and assist with veterans facing mental health challenges and homelessness. Our volunteer roles included setting up and tearing down; managing/supporting the VIP area; offloading the Marcher’s chair and bags at the final stop; sorting the bags to provide them to their owners; handing out water, adult beverages, and other nourishments; and aiding in foot care and heat street. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success!
